Hi, I’m Megan Irwin, LCSW
Growth, healing, and recovery are possible.
But: Effective trauma therapy requires more than insight alone. It also requires a therapeutic relationship that feels emotionally safe, grounded, and capable of holding the complexity of your experience.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I am warm and patient while also being direct, perceptive, and actively engaged in the work. I know how to stay present through emotional intensity, navigate rupture and repair when it happens, and help clients move beyond intellectual understanding into deeper emotional healing.
My approach is best suited for clients who are motivated for meaningful trauma work and are looking for a collaborative, depth-oriented therapeutic process. You’ve learned how to function, achieve, care for others, or stay emotionally composed, even while carrying unresolved trauma internally.
You may struggle with:
chronic anxiety or overwhelm
emotional reactivity that feels confusing or disproportionate
people-pleasing or difficulty setting boundaries
perfectionism or over-responsibility
difficulty trusting yourself or others
relationship patterns that keep repeating
feeling emotionally disconnected, numb, or exhausted
a persistent sense that something is wrong, even when life “looks fine” externally
I can help. I specialize in grief and loss, PTSD, C-PTSD, and relationship challenges. I use a variety of evidence based therapeutic approaches including:
